Meet the New Guy

Whether he truly has other commitments, or he finally got tired of hanging out with guys 25-30 years older than him, Curtis has jumped out of the plane this year.

However, a replacement was quickly found.  Curtis' replacement is Shawn Miller.

Shawn is a Virginia Beach native who served 24 years with the Coast Guard, before retiring three years ago.  He now lives in Williamsport, PA with his wife Staci. They have four children aged 16-23.

I know we will make him welcome.

Day 3 a Two-fer at the Witch

Day three takes us to the dark side.  Actually this is one place I might not want to be after dark.  This is due to the isolated nature of the layout.

This is a return trip for many of us.  The third leg of the Mystical Three, lunch and two beers is also included today.  As is IHOP breakfast if you wish.  This day also provides a free second round in the afternoon, at the Witch.  The free round is not mandatory and is not figured into the weekend championship.  Just there if you want.

This 4 1/2 star course, as rated by Golf Digest, is located on nearly 500 acres of a combination of dense forests and wetlands.  The Witch is different from most courses in Myrtle in that there is no housing to be seen and there are no parallel fairways.  Once you step on the course, you are isolated from the rest of the world and other golfers on the course.  This course has been listed as the most under-rated course on the Grand Strand (which is hard to imagine with a 4 1/2 star rating).  However, it is also the least expensive course in the Southeastern US with that rating.

Plenty of gators and other wildlife.  Don't forget your cameras.
