Heathland - Course #1 for 2011

As we approach a mere three months until our first tee time, here is a preview of our first course for 2011.  This is our one repeat course from last year.  Heathland was the first of the on-site Legend's courses. After drives or flights in, we will meet at the Legend's clubhouse for our free lunch and then see what the golf gods have in store for us. Heathland is probably the most open of the courses we will play, so it should make us feel better about our games on that first day.

World Golf posted this review of Heathland - Heathland - Legends.  Enjoy the read and think warm weather.

OK. So Who is the New Guy?

As we are now inside four months until our next journey to Myrtle, I feel I had better let you know about the new guy joining us this year.

Greg Dunn is a Hokie.  Nuff said?  OK, I'll continue.  "G" lived in the same apartment complex as Kevin B while at Tech.  Greg, Kevin and I along with one of our other tailgating buddies were four of about 1,000 people who actually witnessed live perhaps the worst loss (and the coldest game) in VT football history - VMI 6, VT 0.

Greg, who was once mistaken for Andre Agassi in New Orleans, actually is a tennis player and has traveled with Kevin, Brent, Randy and others to various VT bowls and other sporting events. Kevin and I haven't played golf with him since our trip to East Carolina for football a few years ago. That story will be told during the trip.

He has worked in sales most of his professional life, working in radio advertising and for the past several years with cable advertising.  He was with Adelphia before that ship sunk and currently works for Comcast or Cox or whoever they are this year.  For a time he also managed a restaurant/nightclub in Roanoke. From his time there I have developed a hatred for the stupid/antiquated Virginia ABC laws.

He is a trivia wizard.  Trust me he will stump you with some obscure references to the ABA or the Spurs or some other off the wall stuff while down there. However, he won't be bragging about his Super Bowl champion Saints.
