Basic Information -
Be reminded that with our golf package this year, lunch is included Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We also get two free draft beers at the clubhouse that day. Breakfast is also included Saturday at Legend's and Sunday at Oyster Bay if anyone desires.
The way this works, once we check in at the course, vouchers or some type of system will be given to us. I have the golf vouchers. The New River Valley crew plans on arriving Friday at the Legends around noon. I will check in at the pro shop upon arrival to get the vouchers, so we can get our lunch that day prior to playing golf.
After each round, I will distribute the prize money for the day. We can discuss, but I suggest we meet at the clubhouse for our free beer and do it there.
For meals on Saturday and Sunday, we will follow the tradition of jambalaya one night and spaghetti with Mama Haswell's sauce the other. Brent has been designated to transport spaghetti sauce from Randy's house to Myrtle Beach. As long as he doesn't drink it all on the way down, we will have spaghetti on Saturday night. Sunday night will be jambalaya.
Rules for the course -
Our first tee time on Friday is 1:48 and we'll need to group up before hand for pairings, etc. Hopefully all will arrive in time for lunch. Regardless of notes from Chris, we do have to get to courses early. It is suggested that we arrive no later than 20 minutes before the first tee time. I tend to go by the half hour rule. It does take time to unload cars, get balls, tees, etc. together, load up carts and get out to the tees, etc. What you do with the extra few minutes (practice putting, go to the range, go to the john, check out the pro shop or try to get a preview of the cart girls) is up to you. I will have directions to courses for people and I'm sure some will have GPS in their cars. Of course the first two days are in sight of the condo, so with the exception of air delays or traffic problems, we should be OK.
No metal spikes allowed. I know most people have gotten rid of metal spikes by now, but just in case.
No jeans or denim shorts allowed. Although we had one get away with that last year, don't expect it this year (of course it was the Daly course, so I guess anything goes).
Collared shirts are required. No one has trouble with a mock turtle, just make sure there are no t-shirts.
Remember that it is an ABC violation to take your own coolers on courses. Be subtle if you take beer on the course. Some have coolers in bags which seem to be OK. Bring ice cubes or blue ice packs you can freeze the night before your round so you can pack beer in your bag. Of course, you can buy beverages at the course. Telling the starter that the cooler doesn't have beer, but contains your insulin might work at some public course in Virginia, but the starters in MB will ask to look in the cooler.
Remember to bring allergy medicine and any other medication you need. That includes aspirin, Pepto or anything else for your stomach or head.
Pool and Common Sense Rules -
Remember to take sun screen to the pool.
No glass bottles allowed at the pool.
Be careful who you ask to the hot tub. If you get shot down, expect grief from everyone at the pool.
No head butting the porcelain this year.
This one goes back a few years, but no Greyhounds with Gas. They will get after you!
If you do go to a gentlemen's club, don't spend more money that night than you do for golf and lodging.

Pairings for 2010
Here we go boys! Here are the pairings for this year. I used the software from Golf Trip Genius to set the pairings. While every effort was made to pair "everyone with everyone else", it just isn't possible. To quote Golf Genius "Sometimes a perfect solution is not mathematically possible. One of life’s cruel jokes is that the most common trip size is twelve golfers and 6 rounds, and it is not possible to generate a perfect pairing for 12 golfers over 6 rounds."
I wanted to guarantee that each of the new guys played with their "sponsor" on the first day. After that, I tried some of the switches that the program allows, in an effort to try to get everyone with everyone else, but that more often resulted in some people playing 3 times with someone else. Hey, we all suck, so what does it matter. That's why we play captain's choice each day.
For better or for worse. Here we go..................
